We scanned people on set and imported them into 3D software, allowing us to place them in a dark environment. This gave full creative control over lighting and camera movement, making it possible to achieve shots that wouldn’t be possible in a real-world setting.
Using Gaussian Splatting, I captured reflections and environmental details in the 3D scans. This method preserved realism, making the models look natural and true to life.
Each scan needed optimization in Blender to clean up details and refine textures. This process ensured realistic results while keeping the models efficient for animation.
Some scans included parts of the environment, allowing us to add more real-world elements. This gave extra depth and detail, making the scene feel more immersive.
This project was created for Modul'air in collaboration with Colourblind Agency. I am very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented filmmaking team.
